Seattle Modern Auction Company

I was drawn to auctioneering several years ago when I was captivated by a local auctioneer whose auctioneering style was engaging, entertaining and most importantly, successful. She clearly liked what she was doing and as it turned out was later "let go" because the owner of the auction company told her that auctioneering should be less entertaining. I had been bitten by the bug. She has gone on to become a successful Charity Auctioneer and his is no longer in business.

After several years of buying and selling vintage midcentury modern furniture (please visit this complete website) and having a wealth of non-profit and event planning experience under my belt, I packed my bags and flew to the heartland to attend the Missouri Auction School in October, 2000. After nine intensive days of what I consider some of the best training I have ever received, by some of the most interesting and successful auctioneers in this industry, I left thinking graduate school was much easier, but not nearly as compelling, and that counting numbers would never be the same....

As a graduate of the Missouri Auction School, considered the "Harvard of Auction Schools" (Newsweek) I believe I have obtained some of the greatest auctioneering and auction management skills necessary to be a successful auctioneer. A combination of a rhythmic and clear auction chant, knowledge of what I am selling and to whom I am selling, and a sense of humor combine for an evening well worth any bidders time.

Presently, I serve as the auctioneer for Sunset Galleries, a monthly consignment antique auction company located in Edmonds, Washington. Here I sell over 400 lots of antiques to a full house of bidders, surpassing our total sales goal each month.

According to auction attendee, Nancy Ballinger:

"I love auctions and was impressed with this young auctioneer, her refreshing style ranks her among the best. She has a great voice and a wonderful chant...a natural!"

In addition to consignment auctions, I am available for charity, fundraising, and on-site estate liquidation auctions, am licensed and bonded, and am a card carrying member of the National Auctioneers Association. With a deep appreciation for the long history of auctioneering before me, a belief in the auction method of selling, combined with my business, non-profit, and event planning experience, I can guarantee a profitable and memorable auction event.
